Post Covid everywhere you look there are ‘now hiring’ ads and signs. The common job descriptions list up to 5 must-haves with up to 5 characteristic traits. I wonder if the people who apply go to look at the ad and think – “I don’t fit one of those five so I can’t apply.” How about those jobs that require experience? I wonder how many people’s eyes keep wandering when they see those words.
The status quo says that you need 2-6 years of schooling in order to do one specific job. What if you get in the field and realize it’s not for you? Don’t worry, you probably minored in something as a backup, which you might possibly use. I was surprised to find out that only 27% of college grads are working in the field that they majored in.
That percentage is almost dead on here and we don’t care. Our eyes are always open to finding people who share the same values and goals as we do. Ultimately, to be part of a big dream for a small business. We want to grow and yet refuse to lose our small-town, down-to-earth qualities.
