It’s In the Details

Cabinetry

We can really empathize with our clients knowing that the terms and uses of certain design elements are not second nature to them. If these things aren’t taught or used on a regular basis, how could they? It is overwhelming! Especially when there is a budget involved. Some details equate to an upcharge and some don’t! We really strive to make sure our clients are aware of all of the detailed possibilities so that everyone is aware and upfront about what the end result is going to be. If you’re wondering, yes, that means we have learned these lessons the hard way.

Just a few knitty grittys that are discussed: ceiling height, exterior species, interior species, stain/paint, glaze/distress/sheen, species grade, cabinet height, drawer front design, door sign (inside edge profile, outside edge profile, panel profile), hinges, overlay…. and it goes on. I personally really enjoy those knitty grittys, so you can trust us to help you!

End Panels

Notice the difference between the above photo and the next two – this is the most common way we can either save money or add detail into the design of the cabinetry. The above photo has a furniture groove end panel, very simple. The two photos below have a designed end panel to match other details throughout the kitchen.

Drawer Front Design

Who knew this was a thing? They just match the doors right? Nope. You have the option of having them match the doors exactly, matching just a little, or doing a simple, sleek solid slab like shown below. The simpler the more cost-effective.
