Coastal Farmhouse Cabin - Center of Design

The Coastal Farmhouse Cabin was built just a few miles away from this DIYers farmstead as his “summer retreat” on Lake Eunice. He is a local farmer and true craftsman. Mixing the best of his worlds, he took his dream and with our help, he made it into a reality. We have yet to have a party in the space to celebrate but we are holding him to that invitation!

Kitchen

Our customer knew he wanted blue lower cabinets and white upper cabinets. What he didn’t know was that he’d still be getting the Farmhouse wood grain by going with oven-dried Oak instead of a Paint Grade species. From the beginning, he knew he wanted a place to display his antique John Deere tractors, so we added the glass to the top uppers that was brought to the ceiling with additional crown moulding. A simple shaker door style is throughout the kitchen and the rest of the house. The hardware can alter the overall feel in a space and in this case we wanted to keep it masculine, so we went with matte black knobs and pulls.

Master Shower

Also done by the homeowner, the shower mimicks the rest of the house with grey tones and country vibes.

Notice the tile goes vertical on the bench front. A nice touch!

Doors, Trim, Stairs & Flooring

All of the doors and trim are Oak in the stain Gray Stone. The stairs are Rustic Oak painted and glazed. The treads and landing really warmed up the space with a more of a grey glaze versus a stain. This was a great option to add warmth to all of the cool tones throughout the rest of the house. The original plan was to do a finished concrete glaze on the main level floor. As most of us know, not all projects turn out as planned – luckily we had Karndean Country Oak in stock that worked out amazing!

Ceiling

Dakota Rustic Bridal Veil falls throughout the main level kitchen and living. He then used the Dakota Rustic Canyon to create a nice transition in the long ceiling.
